Counselling, Psychotherapy, Couples Counselling and Supervision in Richmond, Kew, Twickenham and East Sheen

I am a fully qualified and accredited counsellor, psychotherapist and supervisor with over 15 years of experience working with clients from a wide variety of cultures and backgrounds.

I work mainly with individuals but also offer couples counselling, as well as other sorts of relationship counselling (for example with parents and children, with separated couples and with siblings) . In addition to my work as a counsellor and psychotherapist I also have a supervision practice in which I work with other counsellors and psychotherapists on their client work.

My practice is based in Central Richmond and within easy reach of Kew, East Sheen and Twickenham as well as elsewhere in Southwest London and Surrey. It is a 5 minute walk from Richmond train station and I have off-street parking which my clients are welcome to use.

Sometimes my clients come with a clear sense of what is troubling them: for example, they might be experiencing depression or anxiety, struggling with a bereavement, trying to make sense of something from their past. And, sometimes, they just have a general sense that they might benefit from talking through some aspect of themselves and their life. In both cases, I start with the assumption that the client has been trying as best they can to resolve something in their life based on their understanding of themselves and the issues that they face - and yet that hasn’t worked out as well as they had hoped. And now they are coming to someone new, who is not directly part of their life, for a fresh perspective – a ‘second look’ at what is going on. My job is to listen carefully to what they say and also to ask useful questions so that we can, together, take that second look.

I hope that this website gives you a sense for who I am and how I work and that, if you feel that I may be able to help you, you’ll make contact so we can arrange an introductory session. In that session, we can talk through what’s going on in your life at the moment and what you are hoping for from the sessions as well as you getting a feel for me and how I work. By the end of this session, we can decide whether it makes sense to carry on.
